Using adjectives to improve our descriptions of people and places.

This week in Year 5 we have been concentrating on adjectives. We read an extract from Harry Potter, identified the adjectives and changed and improved the passage choosing words for wow factor.

WALT-Using adjectives to improve our Descriptions of people and places.

A dark, mysterious, covered character briskly, crept down the long, narrow, rough front steps
of the castle. Clearly not wanting to be spotted he walked as quickly as possible, towards the spooky protected forest. Harry recognised the characters prowling mysterious walk. Snape was creeping into the spooky protected forest (and while everyone else was at dinner!) What was going on?

Harry ran back onto his sparkling nimbus two thousand and took off. Sliding gently over the spooky, gigantic castle he then saw Snape entering the protected forest at pace. He followed.

The trees were so wide so he couldn’t see where Snape had gone. He flew in circles, higher and higher and higher.
