Geography - locating skills

Learning Objective: To describe locations using geographical terms, to find information from maps with symbols. To use scales and compass points correctly.

Today in year 5 we have been using our geographical skills to describe locations, find out distances between places and describe land use and the reasons for it.

We have been learning about scale in maths and calculating distances along the mountain walks using string. Tomorrow the pupils will write up their findings from their investigation on the blog.
