Short and snappy instructions, written in chronological order are vital when writing instructions. Today we faced a class challenge. Each group chose a familiar game and wrote instructions for the game on post it notes. They then jumbled up the order of the instructions and passed them to another group. Each group had to guess the game and put the instructions in the correct order. The instructions were then read back to the class who also had to guess the game and decide whether the instructions were correct.
Next week we will be writing a set of instructions for an infant audience. The instructions must be for a simple game and must include an introduction, a list of what is needed, chronological instructions, instructional language and a conclusion.
