History: The War Memorial

Over the next few weeks we are going to find out information about some of the soldiers named on the War Memorial. Today we looked at a site that gave us some information, eg addresses, where they were killed, to which regiment they belonged, where they were buried etc.

We walked to the memorial and talked about some of the soldiers we have chosen to investigate.

We then walked to Palalwyf Avenue to look at the houses where neighbours William Russell and William Tucker lived.
Then we visited Cerdin Avenue and the home of Thomas Sumsion who was killed 7 days before the war ended.
