Geography through Photographs

J5 enjoyed developing their geography skills this afternoon by working in pairs to answer questions relating to this half term's topic Snowdonia.

Here is one of the photographs that the children studied this afternoon. Children were asked to answer questions such as "Explain how the wall has been built?" "Where do you think the rocks came from?" and "Why are people not encouraged to use the gate?"
Here you can see J5 actively engaged in the task in hand!
The photographs helped the children understand more about the physical features of Snowdonia. Work quickly Emily and Katie, you've got another six stations to go!

As well as the photographs, some of the stations needed the children to read OS maps and locate various coordinates to find key features.

The children learnt about the tourist impact in Snowdonia and how the town of Llanberis has benefitted from this.

Globes, maps and atlases were available in the class in order to answer some rather challenging questions.
