YEAR 5 Elections

Today we had our own elections and voting system in Year 5. Whilst the Welsh Assembly politicians were busy canvassing for votes, we were working in groups to identify the issues that the politicians should concentrate on. The children were put into groups and firstly came up with names for their parties. Then they had to write a manifesto stating what they would do to improve Pontyclun and the surrounding area. Then we made rosettes and made our speeches. Finally, we cast our votes and as with the real election the children will have to wait until tomorrow morning to find out which party won the election. Well done to all the children you really have improved with your communication skills over the course of year 5, and you are working very well in groups. Da Iawn.
