Last Friday was Children In Need Day, as usual year 6 organised a fantastic afternoon to raise money for an extremely worthwhile cause. Thank you year 6. The Solar System

To the right we have the enormous gas ball at the centre of the solar system, the Sun.

Today was our chance to research how the solar system works by acting it out. Below we have the nine planets counting how many steps it would take them to orbit the sun( obviously the further away from the sun the planet is, the further it would have to travel, therefore it would take more time). We learned that it would take the Earth 1 year and Pluto 248 years to orbit the sun.

Investigating Local History In Year 5

This half term we are investigating how Pontyclun looked in the past, and how it has changed today. We looked at the 6 photographs below and used primary sources of evidence to order them chronologically. Click on the photograph opposite and see if you can do it yourself.

Congratulations

What an occasion for one lucky member of year 5. A few weeks ago she had the privilege of being a mascot ahead of Arsenal's Champions League fixture. She left school early to rush up to the Emirates stadium and walk out in front of 60,000 screaming fans. Well cone and congratulations.
