There will not be a school trip during this topic, but instead the children will be meeting the Paralympic athlete Rhys Jones.

Your child has been given a reading book and a reading record.  Children will be reading with the teacher once a week, one week individually when reading will be commented on in individual reading records, and the         alternate week as part of a guided group reading session. Please update your child’s reading diary weekly.

River Walk

This term Year 5 have been learning about 'The Story of Moses' with both Mrs Barter and Mrs Brown. The children spent a lot of time put themselves in the position of others (imagine how Moses mother felt when he had to leave him go in the basket along the river). The children use 'sticks' as a symbol of the basket and explained their thoughts and feelings as a parent.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the walk and as a result produce fantastic letters and Diary entries.

Year 5 Making Mandel Bread

Last term year 5 were learning about Passover in R.E with Mrs Brown and Mrs Barter. The children had the opportunity to make their own Mandel Bread!

If you have anything that would be suitable for the classroom based on our topic this term this would be highly appreciated, for example; books, magazines, CDs or fashion accessories etc.
